LED ribbon video for stadiums

One clip in.
Every ribbon out.

RibbonReady turns a single video into the exact LED ribbon files each stadium asks for. Tick the venues, press Render, and every screen comes out at its own size, frame rate, length and file type, named the way the venue wants it.

Your clip, 480 × 80
Every ribbon uses whole copies of your clip, centred, with the spare pixels filled in your clip's own background colour. Bar under each ribbon: the full width, and where you're looking

How it works

From one edit to a full match-day delivery in three steps.

STEP 1

Drop in your video

Any length, any height. RibbonReady reads the frame rate, finds the background colour, and checks whether the content scrolls.

STEP 2

Tick the screens

Pick venues from the built-in list, grouped by league, or add your own sizes. A spec check warns you if your clip's frame rate, height or length doesn't suit a screen.

STEP 3

Render once

Every file is made in one pass, with the step, the overall percentage and the time left on screen. Screens with the same spec are encoded once and copied under each venue's name.

Features

Built by someone who delivers stadium LED content every week.

The fiddly rules that get files sent back are handled for you.

whole tiles

Never a cut-off logo

Your clip is repeated edge to edge in whole copies only. Leftover pixels are split evenly at both ends and filled with your clip's own background colour, matched exactly.

7168 → 13408

Smart extend

Designed a wide ribbon for one size? RibbonReady finds the artwork's repeat and stretches it to the other width, keeping both ends intact and carrying gradients across without a join.

scroll detection

Seamless scrolling screens

Scrolling content is spotted when the video loads. Scrolling-only screens get whole copies fitted to the exact width, so the loop joins left to right.

SMPTE LTC

Timecode where it's needed

Flag a screen for timecode and it gets LTC on the right audio channel, your audio on the left, and a timecode track. Drop-frame is supported at 59.94.

mp4 · mov · hap

Every delivery format

H.264 MP4 or MOV, or HAP for large Daktronics-style displays, per screen. Frame rate and length follow each venue's spec, including 15 s and 5 s versions.

1920 × 1080

Stripped HD output

For venues driven from a standard HD feed, long ribbons can be cut into rows and stacked into a 1920 × 1080 frame, timecode and venue names included.

client sign-off

Preview video for clients

Make a 1920 × 1080 preview that shows every ribbon on one frame, so a sponsor can approve the look before match day.

custom sizes

Your own screens

Add up to three custom sizes to any render, with their own width, height, frame rate and length, and save them to your screen list for next time.

always current

New venues arrive by themselves

The venue list and the app update automatically when you're online. Updates install the next time you open the app, never in the middle of a render.

What you get

A folder that's ready to send.

File names carry the venue, the screen and the size, and follow the venue's own naming rules, such as the cricket TL numbers.

  • Right size, right rate, right lengthEach screen keeps its own frame rate, so a 25 fps SCG file and a 60 fps HBF Park file come out of the same render.
  • No duplicate encodingIdentical specs are rendered once. Clashing names get a clear suffix such as _25fps or _TC.
  • A log when you need oneA diagnostics panel shows each step and the encoder's live output, with a button to copy the whole log.

Questions

Before you ask.

What kind of video can I put in?

Any common video file. A clip designed at the ribbon's height works best, but RibbonReady scales it to each screen's height and repeats it to the width. The spec check tells you if the frame rate or length won't suit a venue.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Once activated it renders offline and only needs to check in every 14 days. For computers that are never online there's an offline activation code tied to that machine.

Can I add a venue that isn't listed?

Yes. Add a custom screen with its width, height, frame rate, length and file type, and save it to your list. Send it to us and we can add it for everyone.

What is HAP and do I need it?

HAP is a video format some large LED systems, including Daktronics, prefer for very wide displays. Most venues ask for H.264 MP4 or MOV. RibbonReady makes whichever each screen's spec says, or both.

Will an update interrupt a render?

No. Updates download in the background and install the next time you open the app.

Who makes RibbonReady?

RibbonReady is made in Perth, Western Australia, by Ryan Ramage, who produces LED ribbon content for A-League, AFL, NRL and cricket venues.
